Privacy

This site collects one thing: the email address you leave to hear when the app comes out. Here is what we do with it.

Who is responsible for your data?

BOWN INC, a single-member limited liability company registered with the Paris RCS under number 921 547 055. Contact: contact@bown-inc.fr.

No data protection officer is appointed.

What are your rights?

You can access your address, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its use, or take a copy of it.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: through the unsubscribe link in the email, or by writing to contact@bown-inc.fr. Withdrawing applies from then on, not to what already happened.

If you think your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.

What do we collect?

Your email address and the date you left it. Nothing else: no name, no cookie, no audience measurement.

Leaving it is optional. Without it, you simply will not get the release email.

Why, and on what basis?

To send you one email, the day the app comes out.

On the basis of your consent (article 6.1.a GDPR), given by sending the form.

Your address is not sold, not passed on, and not linked to anything in the app. No automated decisions, no profiling.

Who has access to it?

OVH SAS, in France, which hosts the site and the database on our behalf.

The provider that will send the release email will be named here before it is sent.

Nobody else.

How long do we keep it?

Until the release email is sent, or until you unsubscribe if that comes first. The address is then deleted.

What about Mapbox?

When you record a spot in the app, its coordinates are sent to Mapbox, Inc., in the United States: to look up the place name through a reverse search, and to display the map's tiles.

The "Explore the app" page does the same for its own map: your browser sends Mapbox your IP address and technical information about the browser. We do this in our legitimate interest in showing you the app you chose to open; you can object by not opening the demo. That demo's data is fictional, and nothing you do in it is kept once the tab is closed.

Mapbox states that it adheres to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, on which this transfer relies. According to its policy, Mapbox keeps the IP address for 30 days.
